- Type of radiant used: 8" Concrete slab on grade over 2" Dow 400 extruded insulation (R-10)
- Tubing Manufacturer(s): Wirsbo, Roth, Stadler, Radiant Technology (RTI).
- 15,500 ft of tube was installed on 12" centers
- Mechanical Equipment:
- Boiler: Viessmann Vertomat VSB-17 (638,000 BTUH) Condensing boiler with fully modulating Weishaupt natural gas burner.
- Control Selection: Viessmann Dekamatik-DE with two 3-way mixing valves encompassing boiler and mixing reset.
- Additional components: Grundfos Versa-flo circulators (2). Watts ball valves, Pressure reducing valve and back flow preventer. Elbi expansion tank. Gastite stainless steel gas line. Tjernlund combustion air fan.
- Heatboy's Comments:
- The Vertomat boiler will produce system efficiencies in excess of 96% in this application. It is truly the most amazing boiler I have ever used and is ideal for large residential radiant applications (190,000+ BTUH) and virtually any commercial radiant/snowmelt project. There is nothing more energy efficient or of higher quality.
